NTA says TRIP Act will boost domestic tourism
The introduction of the TRIP Act in the US Senate comes as welcome news to NTA. The Travel Regional Investment Partnership Act helps US destinations promote domestic tourism, which supports 7.7 million domestic jobs and accounts for nearly 3 percent of the country’s gross domestic product.
NTA’s Tour Operator Conference set for San Diego in August 2012
NTA will take Contact to San Diego in 2012 and build on the success of its tour operator-exclusive event in Rhode Island. The three-day conference, set for August 16–18, 2012, will bring travel professionals together in one of California’s most inviting and scenic settings.
UMA and NTA make progress toward 2013 event
Members of the NTA/UMA 2013 Task Force met in Providence, Rhode Island, on July 31 to work through details of their 2013 integrated event, including branding, scheduling, education, networking opportunities, and hospitality functions.
CTO links up with NTA to boost regional travel
The Caribbean Tourism Organisation and NTA have created a new partnership to promote opportunities to tourism businesses in the over 30 member countries in the region. Under the terms of the deal, NTA tour operators will also be offered easier access to Caribbean destinations.
