W Dubai – Al Habtoor City opens to guests
W Hotels Worldwide is debuting the W Dubai – Al Habtoor City, the brand’s first hotel in the Emirate. Owned by the Al Habtoor Group, the design-led lifestyle brand is set to shake up the destination with its rooftop W Lounge, pulsating WET pool deck and innovative fashion and music happenings. The opening marks the W brand’s second outpost in the Middle East, following the debut of W Doha in 2009.
Dukes Dubai signs distribution deal with Preferred Hotels & Resorts
Dubai-based Seven Tides Hospitality has signed a partnership with Preferred Hotels & Resorts, the world’s largest global provider of sales, marketing and distribution services to independent luxury hotels. Dubai’s latest luxury hotel, Dukes Dubai, which is set to open in quarter four of 2016, will be showcased through Preferred’s online booking platform, which generates over US$1 billion in reservations annually.
Aloft brand debuts in Saudi Arabia
Starwood’s Aloft brand is making its debut in Saudi Arabian market with the opening of Aloft Riyadh. Jannah Hotels & Resorts eyes Ras Al Khaimah expansion
Jannah Hotels & Resorts has unveiled plans to expand in Ras Al Khaimah this year as the brand looks to tap into the undersupplied market in the emirate. The Abu Dhabi-based hotel operator expects to open the 100 hotel apartment and 24 villa Jannah Resort & Villas in December.
Hotel construction continues apace in United Arab Emirates
There are 183 hotel projects and 54,000 hotel rooms in the UAE pipeline, according to a new report. The hotel construction report by TOPHOTELPROJECTS reveals that the majority of the new hotels are expected to open before 2020.

The property will operate under the group’s dynamic AVANI Hotels & Resorts brand as the AVANI Deira Dubai Hotel. This represents a milestone for Minor Hotels as the first AVANI hotel in the Middle East.
