Brighton & Hove Albion to welcome new Aloft hotel
Starwood Hotels & Resorts has entered into a franchise agreement with Brighton & Hove Albion to open a new Aloft hotel in the popular southern England coastal city. The 150-room Aloft Brighton, which is due to open in September 2017, will expand the brand’s growing footprint to four hotels in the UK, including two in London (Aloft London Tobacco Dock opens 2018), one in Liverpool and now one in Brighton.
Hampton by Hilton signs on for Stansted property
Hilton Worldwide has signed a franchise agreement to bring Hampton by Hilton to the UK’s fourth largest airport. The agreement has been signed with strategic developers Urban&Civic, who secured planning permission to build a new £45 million 357-bed hotel next to the terminal of London Stansted Airport.
IHG signs Indigo London – Aldgate to open in 2017
InterContinental Hotels Group has signed Hotel Indigo London – Aldgate. The newly built hotel will operate under a franchise agreement with Meadow Partners and Roquebrook. The 207-room hotel opening in 2017 will be located in Aldgate place, east of the City Of London.
Southampton Harbour Hotel & Spa takes first construction steps
Nicolas James Group has said preliminary work is now underway on the development of its new Southampton Harbour Hotel & Spa at Ocean Village. The start of the development marks a major milestone for the city, introducing Southampton’s first luxury five star standard hotel.
Hyatt Regency set for Tbilisi opening in 2017
Hyatt Hotels & Resorts has revealed that a Hyatt affiliate has entered into a management agreement with Rustaveli Property for a Hyatt Regency hotel in Tbilisi, Georgia. The property is expected to open in 2017. “We are thrilled to add this landmark property to our portfolio and further expand the number of Hyatt-branded hotels throughout Europe,” said Peter Norman, senior vice president of development for Hyatt – Europe, Africa and Middle East.
Hilton Lake Como set to welcome first guests in 2017
Hilton Hotels & Resorts is set to open its first hotel in the picturesque northern Italian lakes region, following an agreement between Hilton Worldwide and the Limonta group. Hilton Lake Como is expected to welcome guests in 2017 and will be situated in the centre of Como, offering guests unrivalled access to the stunning landscape surrounding the town.
Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa Bordeaux announced for 2017
Carlson Rezidor has confirmed it will open a new property in France, the Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa Bordeaux. The new urban resort will feature 125 rooms and a large spa and Balneotherapy area – it is scheduled to welcome the first guests in the second quarter of 2017.
Residence Inn by Marriott headed for oil rich Aberdeen
Marriott International and Aberdeen City Council have today signed an agreement to deliver a brand new Residence Inn by Marriott hotel on the new Marischal Square development in the centre of Aberdeen. Work on the hotel, which is aimed at the extended-stay business and leisure markets, will begin in January 2015 and is expected to be completed by summer 2017.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has announced plans to expand its rapidly growing Aloft and Element brands with the signing of a dual-hotel development in London. Scheduled to open in early 2017, the new-build Aloft and Element hotels will offer an exciting range of accommodation in the heart of the historic Tobacco Dock area of East London.
Hyatt Hotels to restore 16th century castle in Baden-Baden, Germany
Hyatt Hotels & Resorts announced earlier that it had entered into an agreement with Badriah Investments to develop a Hyatt-branded hotel within a 16th century castle in Baden-Baden, located in south-western Germany. “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to expand Hyatt’s brand presence in Germany, while at the same time, restoring a local icon for the community to once again enjoy,” said Peter Norman, senior vice president, real estate and development for Hyatt in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
