Meliá Hotels to operate conference centre in Mallorca
Meliá Hotels International will manage Palma de Mallorca’s new conference centre, Palacio de Congresos de Palma as well as connecting hotel, Meliá Palma Bay, located on the promenade of Palma de Mallorca. The new conference and events facility will help position the city as a leader in MICE tourism, increasing demand and profitability.
Radisson Blu to open second resort in Norway
The Park Inn by Radisson Trysil Mountain Resort will be rebranded to Radisson Blu Mountain Resort & Residences this December. “Our aim is to give our guests the best possible hotel experiences and with Radisson Blu’s well-known service concepts we will do our utmost to give our guests exactly that,” said Pontus Åkesson, general manager at Radisson Blu Trysil Mountain Resort & Residences.

Accor unveils ibis Cambridge to guests
AccorHotels has officially opened its new ibis Cambridge hotel. Innside by Meliá Leipzig opens in Germany
Meliá Hotels International has opened Innside by Meliá Leipzig, as part of the Spanish group’s design and lifestyle brand. The new four-star superior hotel with 177 rooms and suites is located here at the corner of Dittrichring and Gottschedstraße. Opposite the St. Thomas Church, the hotel complex is an architectural ensemble that consists of two historical buildings and a modern glass roof structure integrating two palace buildings.

InterContinental Hotels Group has announced it is set to open four new hotels across eastern Europe in the next few months, with a further 46 confirmed as being in the pipeline. The figures are a reflection of the hotel group’s expansion strategy in the region at work. The emergence of a new breed of traveller looking for diverse experiences has given rise to the region overtaking its Western counterparts: while Western Europe may be home to the most visited countries, Eastern Europe saw the fastest growth in 2015.
