URH Hotel Girona has undergone a refresh and is now operating as the DoubleTree by Hilton Girona under a franchise agreement with Hilton Worldwide. The hotel will continue to be owned and operated by URH & Co. Hoteliers under the new leadership of general manager Pere Vila.
Marriott International continues to expand in Eastern Europe with the opening of its first hotel in Bosnia & Herzegovina, the 75-suite Residence Inn Sarajevo. Wyndham Hotel Group has announced the signing of a development agreement with Lester Hotels Group Limited, which will see 20 Ramada hotels open across the UK over the next ten years. Rocco Forte Hotels has announced a strategic partnership with Fondo Strategico Italiano Spa, the Italian State-backed sovereign fund 80 per cent controlled by Cassa Depositi e Prestiti and 20 per cent by Bank of Italy.
