Ascott signs for seven new properties in south-east Asia
Ascott has strengthened its leadership position as the largest serviced residence operator in south-east Asia with the clinching of seven new management contracts, adding over 1,500 apartment units to its portfolio. It has expanded in Bangkok in Thailand, Hanoi in Vietnam, and Petaling Jaya in Malaysia while venturing into Bandung in Indonesia, Penang and Shah Alam in Malaysia, and Nha Trang in Vietnam as demand for serviced residences heats up.
Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts to manage Capital Palace, Jakarta
Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts and Rajawali Property Group have announced that Four Seasons will manage a new, all-suite luxury hotel in Capital Place, a luxury mixed-use development located in the heart of Jakarta’s bustling Sudirman Central Business District. “Capital Place is a remarkable project that represents our bold vision for the city of Jakarta,” said Shirley Tan, chief executive, Rajawali Property Group.
Minor Hotels takes Oaks brand into India with Neemrana property
Minor Hotel Group has announced the first Oaks property in India with the development of Oaks Neemrana, in partnership with India-based NSP Associates. Neemrana is a fast developing business hub located southwest of New Delhi, on the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor, a mega infrastructure project worth US $90 billion, approximately 90 kilometres from Gurgaon and 140 kilometres from Jaipur.
Dusit Thani Dongtai, Jiangsu takes Dusit Thani into China

FRHI Hotels & Resorts debuts Neqta brand in China
FRHI Hotels & Resorts, in a joint venture with China’s Jiangsu Golden Land Group, has announced the debut of Neqta Hotels, a new brand and hotel portfolio consisting of upper mid-scale hotels located in some of the most in-demand destinations across China. The inaugural hotel to fly the Neqta flag opened in Shanghai’s Xuhui District earlier this month, close to the city’s World Expo site, and a second state-of-the-art hotel is expected to debut soon in Nanjing.
Luxury Collection opens first Tokyo property
The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts, part of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, has announced it will debut the brand’s first hotel in Tokyo in July 2016. Owned by Prince Hotels, The Prince Gallery Tokyo Kioicho, a Luxury Collection Hotel, will be located in the heart of Tokyo’s Kioicho neighbourhood, marking brand’s second property in Japan, following the opening of Suiran in Kyoto in April 2015.

Dusit signs on for Jiangsu property
Dusit Fudu Hotels & Resorts, the Shanghai-based hospitality management arm of Dusit International, has announced the signing of a second management agreement with Jiangsu Huaqiang Real Estate Development Company. The deal will see Dusit manage a 400-room international mid-scale DusitPrincess Hotel and Residence in Jiangyin City, Jiangsu Province.
Ascott invests $140m in two new long-stay properties
The Ascott serviced residence global fund, recently launched with the Qatar Investment Authority, has acquired two prime properties in Paris and Tokyo for US$104 million. The fund will invest another US$33 million to convert the office building in Paris into a luxury serviced residence and embark on asset enhancement to reposition the serviced residence in Tokyo, bringing the total investment to US$137 million.
Rosewood Hotels signs with Vattanac for Cambodian property
Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has been appointed by Cambodia-based property developer Vattanac Properties to manage Rosewood Siem Reap, scheduled to open in 2019. It will be the second Rosewood property in Cambodia, following Rosewood Phnom Penh opening in 2016, also owned by Vattanac Properties, and marks Rosewood’s ninth hotel management agreement in Asia.
