MSC Sinfonia returns to sea following renovation work
MSC Cruises has revealed MSC Sinfonia has left Genoa, Italy, to resume service following ground-breaking enlargement and enhancement work at Fincantieri’s shipyard, in Palermo, Italy. MSC Sinfonia entered dry-dock in January and returns to duty ten weeks later with renewed amenities and enriched on-board spaces for cruise guests.
MSC Cruises pulls out of Tunis following terror attack
In the wake of the terror attack at the Bordo National Museum, in Tunis, MSC Cruises has decided to suspend all remaining Tunisian calls in the 2015 summer programme in the interests of guest and crew member safety. Itineraries affected by the change will impact four of MSC Cruises’ ships.
New sales leadership for MSC Cruises in the UK
MSC Cruises has strengthened its sales team with the appointment of Chiara Brooker to the newly created role of sales manager (trade operations). Brooker will oversee all aspects of agent liaison, including trade incentives and events, sales campaigns, fam trips and ship visits, as well as taking responsibility for the new B2B booking system MSC Book. She begins at the cruise line on March 2nd.
MSC Cruises reinforces support for Dubai with 2016 sailings
Holidaymakers will have even more opportunity to soak up some sunshine next winter following MSC Cruises’ decision to add more sailings to its Arabian programme. MSC Musica will offer 16 eight-day/seven-night cruises from Dubai for winter 2015/2016 – four more sailings than were operated this winter aboard sister ship MSC Orchestra.
New communications chief for MSC Cruises
MSC Cruises, the world’s fourth largest cruise line and market leader in the Mediterranean, has further strengthened its Geneva-based global management team with the appointment of Luca Biondolillo to the newly created role of chief communications officer. Biondolillo, 48, will join the business on March 2nd and report to chief executive Gianni Onorato.

MSC Cruises has begun work to transform the second of its four Lirica-class ships with the arrival of MSC Sinfonia at the Fincantieri shipyard in Palermo, Sicily. The work to lengthening and refit the vessel over the next ten weeks will now include the addition of dedicated kids’ club areas from LEGO and Chicco – extending the exciting brand partnerships introduced on sister ship MSC Armonia.

MSC Armonia re-launched as MSC begins fleet revamp

Hundreds of journalists and travel industry representatives boarded MSC Armonia as MSC Cruises chief executive Gianni Onorato unveiled the ship’s range of sensational new options and features.

MSC Cruises has donated €3 million to UNICEF, the United Nations agency that fights for the rights of children around the world, during a handover ceremony at MSC Cruises’ Geneva headquarters.
MSC Cruises places €2.1bn order with Fincantieri
MSC Cruises has today signed a contract with Italian shipyard Fincantieri confirming the construction of two new cruise ships, with an option for one more vessel. The new prototype project, named ‘Seaside’, will be the largest cruise ships ever built by Fincantieri and will feature a revolutionary architectural style leading the way for a new generation of cruise ships.
