Meliá Hotels International has announced the signing of Meliá Ho Tram, marking the group’s fourth property under operation in Vietnam after the successful Meliá Hanoi, Meliá Danang and soon to be launched Sol Beach House Phu Quoc. This new agreement expands Meliá’s footprint in Vietnam, underscored by the company’s resort management leadership, to cater to the increasing demands of tourism and travel in the country.

Meliá Hotels has welcomed the opening of Meliá Yangon, the first hotel operated by the company in the country and a strategic project for its expansion strategy in the Asia Pacific region. The group enters Myanmar market with its first hotel in Yangon, city known as the Garden City of the East.

ME Cabo has officially reopened following an extensive $16 million renovation. All of the hotel’s rooms, suites and public spaces have been revamped to elevate the overall guest experience and cement its place as one of the destination’s most popular resorts. Architects, Patricia Rios and Leonardo Díaz Borioli, have worked alongside renowned interior designer Alejandra Contreras to completely transform the property.

Meliá Hotels International has announced its entry into the Iranian market with the first five-star branded hotel, which will be managed by an international hotel company, Gran Meliá Ghoo Hotel. The property will be located in the largest mixed residential, commercial and hotel complex to be developed in Iran, which is currently being built in Salman Shahr, a popular holiday destination on the Caspian Sea.

Meliá Hotels International has refocused its sights on Madrid with a major investment in the luxury hotel market, which now boasts 23 properties in the city. Meliá Hotels International is renovating the old Ambassador Hotel, a prominent feature on the Madrid-Velázquez walking tour, which will open in early 2016 as the new five-star Gran Meliá Palacio de los Duques.

Meliá Hotels International, the leading Spanish hotel company with more than 370 hotels worldwide, has continued to grow its presence in China with the announcement of a new hotel in Shanghai; bringing the total number of properties in China to eight. The new Meliá Shanghai Hongqiao is part of the Lidoway project, developed by Golden United Group, which will become a major urban complex in Hongqiao featuring a wide range of commercial and entertainment facilities, dining outlets, alfresco areas and high-end residential villas.
