Conrad Maldives Rangali Island has emerged from refurbishment as one of the Maldives’ most applauded resorts. In a strategic move to continually attract guests, the resort has invested US$3.2 million in redeveloping its beach villas which are set to launch this October. The redevelopment has seen a full renovation of 34 beach villas and bathrooms and this was followed by the development of the Maldives’ first authentic Chinese restaurant Ufaa heralded by celebrity chef Jereme Leung.

The Maldives has won the prestigious title of the Indian Ocean’s Leading Destination at the 23rd annual World Travel Awards Africa & Indian Ocean Gala Ceremony. The award ceremony took place in Zanzibar, Tanzania. This is not the first time the Maldives has secured this prestigious title, as the destination also won the title in 2015, after a fierce competition with the Indian Ocean’s top tourist destinations, including Seychelles and Mauritius.

The Oberoi Group have signed a memorandum of understanding with the government of Maldives to build a luxury resort in Maldives. The investment for acquisition and development of the resort will be undertaken by SCDCL, a Bangalore -based real estate development company.
