Leeds Bradford Airport and a new transport and logistics infrastructure start-up have joined to collaborate on developing a new unmanned and manned aerial vehicle hub.

Leeds Bradford Airport has announced the appointment of Nicola McMullen as aviation director. The decision is part of a wider reorganisation of the senior commercial team at the airport.

Proposals to redevelop the airport have hit a snag after the government sought more time to evaluate the plans. Plans to build a new terminal were approved by Leeds City Council in February.

Vincent Hodder, most recently chief executive of IAG-owned low-cost brand, Level, will take over the position on February 1st. Current chief, Hywel Rees, will leave his role after a transition period.

The plans, first announced in January this year, replace a previously consented scheme with a more efficient and sustainable development, enabling the airport to reach its target of becoming carbon net zero by 2023 for airport operations.
