JetBlue Airways, New York’s Hometown Airline™, and Singapore Airlines, one of the world’s most awarded airlines, have filed an application with the U.S. Department of Transportation to enter into a bilateral codeshare agreement.
JetBlue Airways has added new non-stop services for the winter season to Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport in Liberia, Costa Rica (LIR); Gregorio Luperón International Airport in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic (POP); and Hewanorra International Airport in Saint Lucia (UVF). All three services will commence on November 1, 2014 and operate once weekly on Saturdays.
Japan Airlines and JetBlue Airways have agreed to further expand their codeshare cooperation starting March 30th, 2014, resulting in an increase in the number of JAL codeshare flights available on US domestic routes operated by JetBlue. Sales and reservations for the newest codeshare flights will be available from tomorrow.
JetBlue Airways and Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, have announced plans to begin codeshare operations and provide customers with enhanced travel options worldwide. The agreement, which is subject to government approval, will see Etihad Airways place its “EY” code on JetBlue-operated flights, initially facilitating connections between the two airlines at New York’s John F. JetBlue Airways has named Ian Deason Vice President, Airports. In this role, Mr. Deason will be responsible for all airport-related operations and functions for JetBlue’s network of 85 cities in 14 countries throughout the Americas. He will report to JetBlue’s Chief Operating Officer, Rob Maruster.
JetBlue Airways is planning to serve New York/JFK to Bridgetown, Barbados with daily Airbus A321 service, adding up to 580 seats per week each way, starting December 19, 2013.
