Finnair adds Asia capacity with new departures to Tokyo and Hong Kong
Finnair continues to grow its Asian traffic, and has announced it will add capacity and frequencies to the Tokyo and Hong Kong routes with the A350 for the summer 2017 season. Finnair will increase its current flight schedule between Helsinki and Tokyo with four additional weekly flights to Narita airport. Finnair currently operates daily to Narita with the A330.
ITB Asia signs partnership with Japan Tourism Organisation
ITB Asia has signed a partnership with the Japan National Tourism Organisation of Singapore. The memorandum of cooperation with Asia’s leading travel trade show looks to propel Japan up the international business and events destination chart. “Japan is a prime MICE destination in the region,” said Katrina Leung, executive director of Messe Berlin (Singapore).
Hong Kong Airlines launches new flights to Yonago, Japan
Commencing on September 14th, Hong Kong Airlines will be the first and the only carrier providing direct twice-weekly flight service between Hong Kong and Yonago, Tottori Prefecture, Japan. The new service will be operated by an all-economy class Airbus A320 aircraft, further strengthening the airline’s network in Japan.
Hawaiian Airlines to operate daytime Tokyo flights
Hawaiian Airlines has received tentative approval from the US department of transportation to shift its current daily flight between Honolulu and Tokyo’s Haneda International Airport into a coveted daytime schedule. The new flights will begin on October 29th, 2016. The tentative award follows a DOT ruling in May granting Hawaiian a night-time slot pair to provide daily service between Haneda and Kona three times weekly and Haneda and Honolulu four times weekly.
Hong Kong Airlines launches new route to Narita Airport, Tokyo
Hong Kong Airlines, the internationally acclaimed full-service airline, has celebrated its daily direct service to Narita Airport in Tokyo, Japan. The new service further strengthens the airline’s network in Japan. To mark the official launch of this route, Hong Kong Airlines held grand celebrations at both Hong Kong International Airport and Narita International Airport.
oneworld offers new Kyushu, Japan, fares
oneworld has added a third alliance fare for travel around Japan – this time focusing on the Kyushu region. Kyushu, which means “Nine Provinces”, is the country’s third largest island and the most south-westerly of its main islands.
