Japan Airlines Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; Group CEO: Mitsuko Tottori, hereinafter “JAL”) and Air Astana (headquartered in Almaty, Kazakhstan; Group CEO: Peter Foster, hereinafter “KC”) are pleased to announce the signing of a codeshare agreement. This agreement will allow both airlines to place their respective codes on a new Almaty to Tokyo service scheduled to be launched by KC in spring of 2026, as well as on both companies’ domestic flights.

Japan Airlines (JAL) has announced an ambitious fleet renewal plan, introducing a total of 21 Airbus A350-900, 11 A321neo, and 10 Boeing 787-9 aircraft, aiming to enhance its international and domestic operations. The JAL Group has announced its summer schedule for international and domestic routes for the fiscal year 2024. Notable highlights include the launch of daily flights on the Haneda-Doha route from March 31, 2024, along with a Discount Mile Campaign to commemorate the new route.

Japan Airlines (JAL) has successfully raised more than $132,000 to support the relief and recovery efforts for communities affected by the devastating wildfires in Maui, which occurred in August 2023. The funds were generated through various fundraising initiatives, including mileage donations and collection boxes placed in Japan and across the U.S., including Hawaii and the mainland.

The JAL Group has announced updates to its International Flight Plans for the FY2023 Winter Schedule, which were previously announced on August 22, 2023. These updates will involve additional adjustments to the operations of specific routes to Hawaii, Guam (scheduled to commence in December), and select East Asian destinations.
