Record UK visitor numbers to Israel

The Israel Government Tourist Office has announced an all time record in increased visitor numbers for May 2013. Visitors from the United Kingdom rose 21 per cent to 21,277 from 17,566 when compared to May 2012 and five per cent when comparing the first five months of 2013 against 2012 to 90,162 from 85,523.

The Israel Government Tourist Office has launched a new which will present Tel Aviv-Yafo as a modern non-stop city for international visitors. The website will give visitors an overall visual impression of the city through a collection of images, video content and articles that showcases Tel Aviv, known as a city that never sleeps.

Israel’s second international airport to be built at Timna

The Israel ministry of transportation has announced Israel’s second international airport is to be built at Timna, approximately 18 kilometers north of Eilat. The construction of the new airport, which is to be named after the late Israeli astronaut Ilan Ramon and his son Assaf, is currently underway and it is expected to be completed by 2014, replacing the smaller airports in Eilat and Ovda.
