Iberostar Group, a leading hotel company in responsible tourism with more than 100 hotels in 16 countries, presented its roadmap for the protection of the oceans through an ambitious plan aimed at recovering coastal health in all the destinations where it operates at the 2022 United Nations Ocean Conference, which is being held this week in Lisbon, Portugal.
The airline, based on the Balearic island of Mallorca and founded by the Spanish hotel company Iberostar, will operate the planes on long-haul routes from Madrid.
Following a first re-opening in Majorca last month, the company is gradually resuming operations at the rest of its hotels in Europe and around the world.
Properties in selected destinations, including Spain (Balearics, Canaries and Andalusia), Montenegro, Greece and Mexico, among others, will resume operations this month with strict new hygiene protocols in place.
Last year was key for the Iberostar Group, marked by major progress in its commitment to responsible tourism. Despite economic and political uncertainty, the company ended the year with a revenue of €2.35 billion, five per cent up on 2018.
