Kenya Tourism Board has successfully defended its title as Africa’s Leading Tourist Board as World Travel Awards winners in Africa & Indian Ocean are revealed. The organisation was among the most successful entrants at the 2014 awards, taking the prize for the third consecutive year, while South Africa Airways took the trophy for Africa’s Leading Airline.

Hilton Worldwide expands operations in Myanmar with Eden deal
Hilton Worldwide has announced the signing of management agreements with Eden Group Company for five Hilton Hotels & Resorts properties in Myanmar. The partnership with Eden Group represents another significant milestone for Hilton Worldwide’s expansion in Myanmar, following the company’s earlier announcement in 2013 as the first western hotel group to have signed an agreement to operate a hotel in the country.
World Travel Awards issues final call to vote ahead of Africa & Indian Ocean ceremony
Industry insiders, consumers and stakeholders in the regional travel sector are being urged to cast their ballots ahead of the deadline for votes at the World Travel Awards Africa & Indian Ocean Gala Ceremony 2014. The ceremony will take place at the Transcorp Hilton Abuja in Nigeria on September 5th, with voting scheduled to close on June 15th.

Hilton Vienna Plaza announces €20 million modernisation
Hilton Vienna Plaza is currently undergoing extensive renovation as part of a €20 million modernisation that will see the entire hotel transformed. Scheduled for completion in September 2014, the re-design includes all 254 rooms and suites at the hotel and a fresh approach to service and service delivery. Currently closed for the renovation, as of June 6th, 2014 the hotel looks forward to welcoming guests to the new Hilton Vienna Plaza.
