The world’s busiest airport for international passenger traffic has expanded its connectivity to a new destination with the arrival of GoAir’s inaugural flight from Kannur in the south Indian state of Kerala.
GoAir has penned a firm contract for 72 A320neo aircraft following its memorandum of understanding signed during the Farnborough International Airshow. The agreement doubles GoAir’s firm order book for the aircraft type to 144.
The grand opening may be over a week away, but the buzz is already building around the Paris Air Show with a host of aviation orders making the press. Reports from India suggest Jet Airways, the largest carrier in the country, and budget carrier GoAir are in line to order $6.5 billion worth of Airbus aircraft at the forthcoming event.
GoAir, India’s smart low-fare domestic airline has been ranked by Airbus as the “Best Performing Airline” in the Airbus A320 category operator in Asia Pacific / Middle East/ Africa.
