Queensgate Investments, owners of Generator, has acquired Freehand Hotels. Following completion of the $400 million deal, the budget hotel brand will operate all four Freehand properties and their respective food and beverage outlets.

Generator has appointed London-based travel representation and PR consultancy Hills Balfour to manage its European PR strategy. Hills Balfour’s pan-European remit includes maintaining strong media relations, operating a robust press office and developing several creative concepts.

Patron Capital, owner of Generator Hostels, has successfully completed a minority sale of Generator to Invesco of up to 23 per cent in exchange for €60 million of growth capital.
