Tourism Fiji was crowned winner of Oceania’s Leading Adventure Tourism Destination 2022. The award was announced during the World Travel Awards star-studded gala ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on Wednesday.
It is no surprise Sigatoka River Safari has again successfully defended its title of being Oceania’s Leading Adventure Tour Operator. The River Safari has been the winner for six consecutive years since the introduction of this category by the World Travel Awards in 2017.

Tourists visiting Fiji are no longer required to take a Covid-19 test on arrival. Previously, visitors were required to pre-book a rapid antigen test (RAT) to be taken within 72 hours of arrival. If the test was positive, tourists were required to undergo seven days of isolation.
Fiji is expected to receive at least 500,000 foreign tourists this year, said a Fijian official on Tuesday. Fiji has closed its door to international tourism while it battles devastating floods which have swept across the island. Officials have also warned the situation could deteriorate further as Cyclone Daphne bears down on the South Pacific island.
In what again represents a solid boost for Fiji’s tourism industry, international visitor arrivals for September 2009 again continued to build according to figures released by Tourism Fiji.
