Hundreds killed in Mexico City earthquake
Hundreds of people have been killed following a 7.1 magnitude earthquake in Mexico. As many as 226 people are currently feared to have died in the incident, which saw damage to more than 100 buildings in the centre of Mexico City.

Two people have been killed on the holiday island of Kos following a strong earthquake in the Aegean Sea. The 6.7-magnitude quake hit 12 kilometres north-east of Kos, near the Turkish coast, earlier this morning, with a depth of ten kilometres, the US Geological Survey said.

A number of fatalities are feared at the Rigopiano Hotel in the Abruzzo region of Italy after the property was hit by an avalanche. Rescuers were at the scene overnight as they fought to reach the hotel close to the Gran Sasso Mountain.

Deadly earthquake strikes central Italy
An earthquake has struck central Italy killing at least 73 people and leaving dozens more trapped under rubble. Damage from the 6.2 quake was centred on the town of Amatrice, while a family of four are also believed to have been killed by collapsing rubble in the nearby town of Accumoli.

A tsunami has hit the Solomon Islands after a strong earthquake struck the south Pacific region. Warnings were briefly in place for several Pacific nations following the 8.0 magnitude earthquake.

Costa Rica hit by 6.6 magnitude earthquake
A powerful 6.6 magnitude earthquake has struck the western coast of Costa Rica, according to reports from the United States Geological Survey. The quake was centred about 38 miles south of Liberia, Costa Rica, at a depth of 11.8 miles.

Italy earthquake kills four
Four people have died and dozens injured in a 6.0 magnitude earthquake in Northern Italy which hit at 4am local time, 22 miles north of the city of Bologna. It had a magnitude of 5.9 and struck at a relatively shallow depth of 6.3 miles (10km), according to the US Geological Survey.

Hundreds dead following Turkey earthquake
