Carnival Cruise Lines has confirmed it will forgo a number of port calls in Belize during 2013. Carnival said the decision had been taken as the port had become too congested.

Design details unveiled for Carnival sunshine

Carnival UK appoints Tempest as chief commercial officer
Gerard Tempest has been appointed in the new role of chief commercial officer for Carnival UK. Tempest will report to David Dingle, chief executive of Carnival UK, and will be responsible for all commercial and marketing activities for its two UK based brands, P&O Cruises and Cunard Line.
Ribbon cutting ceremony opens new Carnival Japan office
A celebratory ribbon-cutting ceremony officially opened the new Carnival Japan office in Tokyo today, marking the expansion of one of the largest vacation companies in the world into this growing cruise market. Operated by Carnival Corporation & plc, Carnival Japan was created to oversee the largest deployment ever by a global cruise line in the Japanese market with the launch of Princess Cruises homeport sailings, specially developed for Japanese travelers. The inaugural season launches aboard the line’s Sun Princess in April 2013.
New dining, entertainment options debut on Carnival Miracle today

Carnival reports loss after Costa Concordia sinking
Carnival has reported a $139m (£83.6m) loss in the first quarter of 2012 compared to a $152m profit in the same period last year which it attributes mainly to the sinking of the Costa Concordia.
Carnival Valor moves to San Juan in 2013
Carnival Cruise Lines will increase capacity on its seven-day Southern Caribbean itineraries from San Juan, as well as on its four- and five-day cruises from Miami, deploying newer, larger ships in both markets. The 2,974-passenger Carnival Valor will launch a five-port, seven-day schedule from San Juan February 10th, 2013, becoming the newest and largest ship to operate year-round from that port.
