A second next-generation cruise ship has been confirmed for P&O Cruises. A shipbuilding contract signed by P&O Cruises parent, Carnival Corporation, with leading German and Finnish shipbuilders Meyer Werft will see the vessel delivered in 2022.

Carnival Corporation has completed an extensive, multi-million-dollar redesign and upgrade of Cruise Terminal 2 at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale. Used exclusively by the company’s Princess Cruises brand, the upgraded terminal now features a more streamlined departure design, interactive experiences, movie theatre and more comfortable pre-boarding areas transforming guests’ experience as they prepare to depart for their cruise.

Carnival Corporation has marked the official beginning of construction for the first of its seven next-generation cruise ships that will be fully-powered by liquefied natural gas with a keel-laying ceremony at Seatrade Europe in Hamburg.

Josh Weinstein, corporate treasurer of parent company Carnival Corporation, will become president of Carnival UK following the planned departure of current chief executive David Noyes in July after six years in the business.

Carnival Corporation has announced that it has signed a memorandum of agreement with Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri to build two new cruise ships with final contracts expected to be executed in early 2017. The two new ships are designated for the company’s Holland America Line and Princess Cruises brands.

Fathom has added two Cuba sailing dates for fall 2016 – the result of strong pent-up demand by travellers choosing to take a cruise vacation to explore Cuba with Fathom, the only US cruise line sailing from the US to one of the most desired destinations in the Caribbean. The additional cruises will take place the weeks of Sunday, October 9th, and Sunday, November 6th,  Fathom’s MV Adonia will return to Miami on the following Sunday for each of the cruises.
