AACO 2011: Air Arabia launches Moscow service
Air Arabia and Sharjah Commerce & Tourism Development Authority have inaugurated a service to Moscow, Russia. A delegation to Moscow to celebrate the launch was led by the chairman of Sharjah Commerce & Tourism Development Authority Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Qassimi and the chairman of Air Arabia Sheikh Abdullah Bin Mohamed Al Thani.

Qatar Airways’ corporate jet division, Qatar Executive, has re-launched its website with new features offering an enhanced experience to the company’s private jet services. A new navigation system and homepage layout allows users to quickly locate information with detailed specifications and reviews of Qatar Executive’s wholly-owned fleet of six luxurious Bombardier private jets.

AACO 2011: Etihad to outsource accounting to Kale Consultants
Etihad Airways, the national carrier of the United Arab Emirates, has announced it will outsource the accounting of passenger and cargo revenues to aviation accountancy specialist Kale Consultants from April, 2012. The deal was confirmed during the Arab Air Carriers Organisation annual general meeting currently taking place in Abu Dhabi.
AACO 2011: IATA calls for closer integration in MENA aviation
The International Air Transport Association has called for a renewed focus on cooperation among aviation stakeholders in the Middle East and North African region to manage the challenges of growth. Addressing an industry audience at the Arab Air Carriers Organisation annual general meeting in Abu Dhabi, IATA secretary general Tony Tyler said: “Aviation is a challenging industry, so let us work together, where we can, to meet the challenges of growth and make aviation even more successful.”

AACO 2011: Royal Jordanian revenue up in October
Royal Jordanian has reported an eight per cent increase in revenues for October 2011 compared to the same month the previous year. The up-tick is attributed to the great and diligent efforts made inside and outside the Kingdom to strengthen its position and increase its market share, the carrier said earlier.

Abu Dhabi guest arrivals surge ahead of AACO AGM
Abu Dhabi’s 2011 stretch hotel guest target of 2 million is now within sight as last month produced record figures for any October with some 182,553 guest arrivals – a 21% increase on October 2010. Guest nights also rose 17% on the same comparative month to 582,929 and occupancy was up 7%.
