Aeroflot reports fall in annual profits as costs mount

Aeroflot has reported a 40 per cent drop in annual profits, pressured by mounting costs. Net profit at Russia’s largest airline fell to R23.06 billion ($409 million) in 2017, down from a record of R38.8 billion roubles it had reported a year earlier.

Aeroflot will become the largest customer for the latest Russian-built medium-range aircraft, the MC-21, following a deal between the flag-carrier and Rostec. Under the terms of the order, Rostec, a leasing subsidiary of Aviacapital-Service, will supply Aeroflot with 50 MC-21-300 aircraft.

Aeroflot has announced the launch of its winter 2017/18 Schedule, which will operate from October 29th through to March next year. The season includes flights to 137 destinations in 51 countries, including 50 routes inside Russia, 15 routes to seven CIS countries and 72 other international flights.

Торжественная церемония проводилась сегодня в отеле «Savoy» в Лондоне, где генеральный директор «Аэрофлота» Виталий Савельев получил награду из рук президента Brand Finance Дэвида Хэй.
