Accor is developing three newly built hotels in Myanmar – an MGallery hotel in Naypyidaw, Novotel Yangon Max, and Novotel Mandalay Mingalar – representing the group’s 18th market in the region.
Accor, the world’s leading hotel operator, announces that it will enter Bangladesh, the Group’s 17th market in Asia-Pacific. Accor will open two properties in the country under management contracts – Novotel Dhaka Gulshan Avenue in the country’s capital and Novotel Chittagong.
Accor has announced the completion of the sale of its Motel 6/Studio 6 hotels in North America to an affiliate of Blackstone Real Estate Partners. The deal is worth approximately $1.9 billion and will allow the French hotel giant to reduce its adjusted net debt by €780m.
Accor has secured a record pipeline of 90 contracts in Brazil, all to be delivered by 2016. The group network in Brazil will increase by 13,819 new rooms, generating more than 3,600 jobs, according to figures from the French hotel giant.
Hotel operator Accor is expanding its brand portfolio in the UK with the opening its first Pullman branded property in London this month following a complete refurbishment. The 312-room property features panoramic views of the London skyline, and a restaurant and bar named Golden Arrow, plus meetings facilities.
One year after announcing its economy-hotel ‘Big-Bang’, Accor has unveiled the full scope of the ibis revolution, which it has rolled out simultaneously in 56 countries, in record time. This project involved reviewing economy hotel codes in depth, renewing more than 100,000 beds, honing an all new concept for its public areas, and briskly installing the new ibis, ibis Styles and ibis budget banners.
The Japanese group JCBI, via its payment brand JCB, and HanaTour, the largest South Korean travel company, have both just signed major partnerships with Accor. These agreements illustrate the Group’s intention to constantly improve its response to the specific demands of local and international travellers.
International hotel operator Accor now operates over 100,000 rooms in the region, with the opening of ibis Hong Kong Central and Sheung Wan.
