Accor expands online portal to boost bookings
French hotel giant Accor has launched a new advertising campaign with the DDB agency to promote the positioning of its booking portal. The campaign will run across TV, catch-up TV and the internet in the group’s key markets, including France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Brazil as well as in Austria and Africa.

Novotel planned for Saudi Arabia
Accor Middle East has signed a management contract with Sheikh Salem Saleh Babgi to develop a Novotel hotel in the city of Jizan, Saudi Arabia. The 200 room hotel, which is currently under design, is due to open by 2015.
Accor purchases Mirvac Hotels across Australia and New Zealand
Accor has completed the purchase of the Mirvac Group’s hotel interests in Australia and New Zealand. As a result of the acquisition, Accor will add a total of 43 hotels across Australia and New Zealand.
Accor sells US economy division for $1.9 billion
French hotel giant Accor has announced it has sold its United States economy hotels division to an affiliate of Blackstone Real Estate Partners VII. The deal is valued at $1.9bn and includes both Motel 6 and Studio 6, an extended-stay economy chain, and comprises 1,102 hotels in the USA and in Canada.
