Virgin Atlantic launches £6 million global ad campaign
Virgin Atlantic has launched its first joint UK-US television advertising campaign. The £6 million push is the carrier’s first TV and cinema activity since its 25th anniversary “Still Red Hot” campaign last year, which was voted “World’s Leading Travel Commercial” at the World Travel Awards.
The 90-second “Got It” commercial features the track “Feel Good” by pop group Muse and includes appearances by Virgin cabin crew members.
According to the airline, the ad aims to take the “viewer on a metaphorical flight, guiding them through a surreal and glamorous world of airline iconography”.
The initial burst supports the recently launched outdoor and press activity to promote its business travel service through the autumn, traditionally the busiest period for business travel.
A second wave will run on TV and in cinemas next January and February to target leisure travellers booking their summer holidays.
Ryanair launches Tallinn service
Meanwhile, Ryanair has announced that it will start services to and from the Estonian capital, Tallinn, in December.
The low-fare Irish airline will be flying from Tallinn to seven destinations including Dublin, Edinburgh and Luton.
Ryanair expects to carry 300,000 passengers a year on the routes.
