António Soveral Padeira will represent Portugal in the UK

Turismo de Portugal has announced the appointment of António Soveral Padeira as director of the Portuguese National Tourist Office in the UK & Ireland.

Paderia has a wealth of experience working within the travel industry, having spent seven years as general marketing manager at Turismo de Portugal in Lisbon.

In this position he was responsible for marketing strategy across 22 global offices, whilst also working with the private sector and seven regional Portuguese tourist offices.

In addition, Padeira oversaw the promotion of Portugal during 2004 UEFA European Championships in his role as marketing director at Turismo de Portugal.

He has held several other posts at AICEP (Portuguese Trade and Investment Office) and Turismo de Portugal throughout his career.

As director of the Portuguese National Tourist Office in the UK & Ireland, Padeira will implement and oversee a strategic trade, marketing and PR plan for the remainder of 2014 and beyond, ensuring UK and Irish corporates and consumers continue to visit Portugal.

Commenting on his appointment, Padeira said: “I’m incredibly excited to take on this new challenge and have the opportunity to further enhance the great work that is already being actioned in the UK and Irish market.”
