The Crowne Plaza Heythrop Park Oxford Opens

Last week, saw the culmination of a £50 million investment with the opening of the chic and sophisticated 197 bedroom Crowne Plaza Heythrop Park – Oxford that is now open alongside the existing 18th Century Heythrop Park Hotel.  Set in 440 acres of glorious Oxfordshire countryside, Heythrop Park Resort is a unique country estate seamlessly combining elegance with style with its two luxurious hotels, a championship-standard 18-hole golf course, a contemporary new health club, a choice of four restaurants and bars, and a state of the art conference centre. Additional facilities include the 72 par Golf Course by renowned architects; Mackenzie and Ebert, which is set to become one of the finest courses in the UK, and the new Health Club and Spa which will become a destination in itself.

The Great Outdoors

The stunning 18 hole Bainbridge Course (opened Autumn 2009) was designed by the well-known golf course architect, Tom Mackenzie (who has advised on 27 of Golf World Magazine’s Top 50 UK Courses). The 72 par course follows a majestic route over rolling tree-lined landscape and owes much to the traditional values designer Tom MacKenzie brings to his task.

“I like to create courses that sit comfortably in their setting offering a wealth of shot making permutations particularly around the greens.” Tom MacKenzie.

The challenging course is a possible contender for the European Tour and is getting high praise from all who play it.  The modern clubhouse has contemporary bar and restaurant overlooking the course is the perfect place for a well deserved post match drink.
