TAP’s new route between London City Airport and Porto launched earlier, with the inaugural flight taking off from London City at 14:50 on Sunday.
The route operates six days a week and arrives in Porto at 17:10.
The service between Porto to London leaves Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport at 12:05 and arrives in London at 14:20.
According to Paula Canada, TAP sales director: “Connecting London City Airport to Porto with a direct flight contributes to the development of the Portuguese city, incentivising not only the business traffic but also offering a further option for leisure passengers on both ends.”
The reinforced offering from London City Airport follows TAP’s launch of the London City Airport to Lisbon route in October 2017, and showcases its commitment to working with the airport, conveniently located in the city’s financial centre.
Richard Hill, chief commercial officer at London City Airport, said: “This is the first time that London City Airport has offered flights to the scenic city of Porto, a trendy and increasingly popular destination that compliments TAP Air Portugal’s existing Lisbon service and the airport’s growing portfolio of leisure routes.
“We know our customers want to travel to new destinations from London City and with this latest TAP route, Porto’s sights, sounds and gastronomy are within easy reach, thanks to the airport’s fast and convenient passenger experience.”
