Rocky Mountaineer has released the world’s first virtual reality rail video, offering travellers the chance to experience life on-board its iconic train without ever leaving their homes.

The VR rail video was developed in partnership with Tourism Alberta and filmed aboard Rocky Mountaineer’s First Passage to the West route.

Footage includes the untouched beauty of the Pacific Northwest and Western Canada, not to mention the iconic wave and bagpipe send-off passengers receive and the train’s GoldLeaf Service bi-level dome coaches.

The award-winning rail company is also encouraging aspiring travellers to watch the video and share their thoughts on social media using #360RockyMountaineer.
