Relax, unwind and chill out at Gatwick‘s travel spa

Passengers flying through Gatwick’s North Terminal this summer will be able to enjoy full-on pre-travel pampering in the new No.1 Traveller Lounge.  With its travel spa, mini-cinema and games facilities there will be something for everyone to enjoy ahead of their holiday or in-between business meetings.

For a £20 entry fee, passengers will be able to enjoy up to three hours of peace and comfort ahead of their journey, watching a movie or chalking down a pool cue to pot a few balls or indulging in a range of relaxing and revitalising treatments that can be purchased at the new Travel Spa. Or passengers can simply take in the panoramic views of the runway while enjoying complimentary food and refreshments, newspapers, magazines, TV and Wi-Fi.

Passengers in the new No.1 Traveller lounge will be able to buy travel insurance, order foreign currency and even shop for duty free, all via the lounge hosts from the comfort of their seat.

The lounge will cover a space of 10,000ft2 and offer spa facilities to Gatwick’s passengers for the very first time, including hairdressing, massage, manicures and showering facilities. Passengers with young families can relax with their children and enjoy playtime in a designated play area.  Business travellers can work on the move by taking advantage of private meeting rooms and high-end business centre facilities.

Robin Longden, Gatwick Airport’s Chief Commercial Officer said:  “At Gatwick, we want our passengers to feel as if their holiday starts right here at the airport and not at the point at which they reach their chosen holiday destination. Our £1 billion investment programme is geared towards making the passenger experience more pleasant and enjoyable - providing better, speedier check-in products, shorter queues at security and delivering more modern, spacious departure lounge areas. The new No.1 Traveller lounge in Gatwick’s North Terminal will compliment the improvements being delivered across the entire airport.”

Phil Cameron, Chief Executive of No.1 Traveller, said: “The aim of our lounges is to create the ‘smartest address at the airport’ offering passengers the services they really want at a great price. With the success of our lounge in Gatwick’s South Terminal, we are excited to be working with Gatwick to improve the passenger experience at the North Terminal, with an exciting range of services never seen before at a UK airport. We look forward to welcoming our first guests this summer.”
