IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) announced the executive appointment of Mr. Fergus Stewart as the new Regional General Manager that oversees both Vietnam and Cambodia and based at the InterContinental Asiana Saigon, Ho Chi Minh City of Vietnam.

Fergus arrived in Ho Chi Minh City in March 2012 and whilst new to Vietnam, he is certainly not new to the Asian Hotel Market. With almost 25 years of experience Fergus has worked in 10 different countries across 3 continents during this career. His most recent posting as managing InterContinental Hotels in the Greater Tokyo area which included the 850 rooms ANA InterContinental Tokyo – one of the largest InterContinental Hotels worldwide. With
12 restaurants and often catering for 17 weddings in a single day, this was indeed a huge business in the region. The extraordinary leadership during his time in Japan brought Fergus the “InterContinental General Manager of The Year 2010” award for the Asia Australasia region.

Starting his career at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London and other than time spent at the Landmark London, the international career progression lead Fergus through various management positions in the hotel industry. Prior to join IHG, Fergus’ extensive operational were gained mainly from working with the well-recognized Shangri-la and Hyatt organizations.

Originally from Scotland, Fergus obtained the UK Diploma in Hotel Catering and Institutional Operations as well as the Cornell Executive Program in Hospitality Management through the National University of Singapore.
