New Minister of the Egyptian Civil Aviation

Eng. Hussein Massoud sworn in as the Egyptian Minister of Civil Aviation, after being commissioned by the Egyptian PM Dr. Kamal El Ganzoury, Massoud was the Chairman & CEO of EGYPTAIR HOLDING since September 1st, 2009.

After accepting the responsibilities of the new position, Eng Hussein Massoud declared “the priorities in the next period will be directed towards organizing the internal structure of the ministry and creating a homogeneous teamwork system”. He added “All the Ministry of Civil Aviation employees have full awareness, high knowledge and optimum loyalty to the aviation sector, the matter which certainly shall take part in overcoming this critical period.”

Noteworthy that Eng Massoud held many leadership positions internationally and locally; as he is a member in the International Air Transport Association “IATA” Strategy and Policy Committee, a member in the Nomination Council and a member in the board of governors in the same association.

In addition to this, Massoud is the African Airlines Association “AFRAA” Chairman in its current session and for the second consecutive period, and he was the Chairman of the Arab Air Carriers Organization “AACO” in the previous session.

Eng. Hussein Massoud holds Master of Business Administration degree from Rennes University, France in 2006. He also held Master degree in Engineering from the American University in Cairo in 1991, in addition to holding Masters in Materials Engineering from the same university in 1988 and holds a bachelor degree in Aeronautical Engineering in 1970.. Further, Eng. Massoud was granted the Order of Merit from the French government in 1982.
