Next Monday marks the launch of a new flight route from London to Moscow, operated by a major low-cost carrier, and TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel website, can reveal that the Russian capital has already seen a substantial uplift in traveller interest. Tickets for the flights went on sale in January this year and in the period immediately following this, Moscow accommodations saw a 99% increase in traveller searches on TripAdvisor.co.uk.

“Moscow has already been voted by TripAdvisor travellers as one of the world’s foremost Destinations on the Rise and this recent uplift in traveller interest is further encouraging news for Moscow’s tourism,” commented TripAdvisor spokesperson, Emma Shaw. “The launch of a low-cost carrier service has clearly piqued interest in the city from British travellers – with tourism officials surely hoping this will make the capital more accessible for those who otherwise may not have considered Moscow as a holiday destination.”
