IHG welcomes Holiday Inn Resort Catalina Island to California
InterContinental Hotels Group is opening the 75-room Holiday Inn Resort Catalina Island hotel in Avalon, California.
This property is the second Holiday Inn Resort location in California, joining the Holiday Inn Resort The Lodge at Big Bear Lake hotel, and is the only full service hotel located on Catalina Island.
Eric Lent, vice president, Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza Brands, The Americas, IHG said: “The Holiday Inn Resort brand offers the warm hospitality Holiday Inn guests know and love in beautiful resort destinations from seaside to mountains, all around the world.
“The addition of the Holiday Inn Resort Catalina Island hotel expands the brand’s presence on the West Coast and offers another exciting destination where families can create lasting memories.”
Situated in the picturesque hills of Avalon and accessible only by ferry or helicopter, the newly converted resort is near Downtown Avalon and Descanso Beach.
Guests can rent golf carts or take advantage of the resort’s free shuttle to get around the island, take land and boat tours of the area and visit the local golf courses and the Catalina Casino, which houses a movie theatre, ballroom and an island art and history museum.
The hotel offers an outdoor pool, spa, fitness centre, business centre, complimentary Wi-Fi and full service restaurant, Seaport Bistro.
The resort also features over 5,000 sq. ft. of flexible indoor and outdoor meeting space with available on-site catering.
Nicole Hohenstein, general manager of the property, said: “We are delighted to open the doors of our island resort.
“With a location that allows our guests to immerse themselves in all that Catalina Island has to offer, we are confident that our hotel will quickly become a favourite choice of leisure travellers visiting the area.”
The hotel, located at 888 Country Club Drive, is owned by Pacifica Catlan and managed by Pacifica Host Hotels.
