Honua Kai Resort & Spa is Ready to Celebrate the Holiday Season with a Brand New Second Tower of Sui
Honua Kai Resort & Spa has announced the completion of the Konea building, the second of two towers that will offer an additional 310 guest suites and a network of new swimming pools at Maui’s newest luxury resort. In addition to the new building the resort is also celebrating the opening of Duke’s Beach House restaurant in time for the holidays. With this, Honua Kai Resort & Spa will offer a total of 628 guest suites, three ocean-front pools and two premiere restaurants, all located on nearly 40 acres bordering Kaanapali North Beach.
“I am proud of the fact that we are two months ahead of the planned construction schedule and we are ready to welcome guests to celebrate the holidays and New Year in style at Honua Kai Resort & Spa,” said Ed Sowers, general manager of the Resort. “We have achieved our vision to create a fully operational resort that offers a unique alternative to the typical resort experience on Maui. Honua Kai fills a niche for a variety of travel options including extended stay conveniences and luxury resort services.
“The new Duke’s Beach House restaurant will add a wonderful dynamic to Maui’s west side, and we are excited to be a part of that,” added Sowers. “The parent company - TS Restaurants - is a pleasure to work with, and we look forward to Duke’s Beach House providing guests an authentic Hawaiian dining experience and a glimpse into the life of the restaurant’s namesake, legendary Hawaiian surfer and waterman Duke Kahanamoku.”
In January 2009, Honua Kai opened the Hokulani building with an initial 318 guest suites, `Aina Gourmet Market, pool, fitness center, concierge desk, Family Fun Club and pool & beach activities operation. Future plans for the new Konea building include opening of a third restaurant and the addition of a spa partner, both scheduled for 2010.
The Resort’s popular 50% Off Special will continue through January 31, 2010, excluding blackout dates of December 13, 2009 through January 2, 2010, based upon double occupancy in Ohana and one-bedroom, and up to four in two-bedroom category. The 50% Off Special rates start at $200 per night for the Ohana Resort View category and 50 percent off published rack rates in Ohana, one- and two-bedroom suite categories, based on availability.
