Holidays By Rail boosts offering for 2012 season

United Kingdom-based specialty travel company Holidays By Rail has rung in the New Year with the addition of more than 40 new rail holidays to its robust product line.

New holidays range from short city stays in the most popular European cities to extended getaways to destinations from as near as the Scottish Highlands to as far-flung as America’s National Parks, the Canadian Rockies and New Zealand.

Supplementing the company’s already hearty rail-cruise tours and city breaks in Europe are new holidays to the resort areas of Lake Constance and Lake Garda and great rail journeys to Europe’s imperial cities, Mediterranean towns and destinations throughout Eastern Europe.

Of special interest is the new dual-country Marrakech Express tour, which combines a visit to Spain’s capital, Madrid, with a visit to Northern Africa to explore four of Morocco’s most exciting cities.

Crossing the ocean, new holidays in America include an in-depth exploration of the western frontier and its popular National Parks, an Alaska discovery tour and the hidden gems of the Colorado Rockies by scenic touring trains.

Travellers wishing to get a true taste of the entire US can embark on a coast to coast rail journey beginning in New York with stops in Washington DC, Chicago, Denver, the Colorado Rockies, the Grand Canyon, Los Angeles and San Francisco and ample sightseeing to America’s most impressive landmarks.

New in Canada are two cross-country rail adventures as well as a new Rocky Mountain Railtour featuring travel aboard the all-daylight Rocky Mountaineer train and visits to Vancouver, Kamloops, Jasper, Lake Louise and Banff.

All holidays include train travel, overnight accommodations and scenic touring in addition to other package inclusions.
