Hanisko named ATTA’s first senior marketing post

For the first time since its 2005 re-launch, the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA), a trade organization encouraging responsible tourism development worldwide with more than 800 businesses and tourism organization members across 82 countries, has introduced the new post of Vice President of Marketing & Communications.

The ATTA named marketing and travel industry veteran Mrs. Casey Hanisko to the newly created senior management position. Previously, Hanisko served 15 years with international tour operator Zegrahm Expeditions, a leader in small-ship cruising and land-based expeditions to all seven continents. Her most recent position was Vice President/Executive Director, Marketing, Brand & Sales.

“Since 2005, the ATTA’s overall marketing and public relations efforts were executed by all members of our team, but our recent growth and increasing international exposure and opportunities require an entirely new level of expertise,” said ATTA President Shannon Stowell. “Casey, whom I admire and trust greatly, brings stellar international tour operator insights along with exceptional senior-level marketing and communication vision and strategy that we require for our next phase of maturation.”

Hanisko is responsible for planning, initiating and managing the marketing activities for the ATTA. She will focus on promoting and expanding the reach and impact of the organization from a public awareness building perspective, develop and drive trade and consumer campaigns for promoting the adventure travel industry as a whole, plus provide strategy, development, guidance, and implementation of marketing and communications needs for sponsor and destination partner projects. Hanisko also will guide the ATTA’s overall branding, messaging, communications and public relations strategy efforts.

Established in 1990, the Seattle-based ATTA (www.adventuretravel.biz) is a global membership organization dedicated to unifying, networking, professionalizing, promoting and responsibly growing the adventure travel market.
