Manchester’s Hotel Football has been named the World’s Leading Themed Hotel at the prestigious World Travel Awards 2023.
The Awards, which took place at Dubai’s iconic Burj Al Arab on Friday 1 December, are globally recognised as the most prestigious honours programme in travel and tourism.
Hotel Football - co-founded by former Manchester United players Gary Neville, Ryan Giggs and the Class of 92 - has already experienced a record year financially in 2023 due to increased demand, and is set to welcome over 26,000 guests during the 2023/24 football season ahead.
Located directly next to Old Trafford stadium - the home of Manchester United, and only a ten minute walk from the city’s Emirates Old Trafford cricket ground, Hotel Football is a must for any sports fan.
Boasting the UK’s only rooftop 5-a-side football pitch, as well as a Games Zone for children, each of the 133 guestrooms benefit from Hypnos beds with luxurious bed linen, a 40-inch plasma TV with all Sky Sports channels, bathrooms with rain-effect showers, air conditioning and complimentary drinks and snacks.
Speaking about the award win, Chris Hull, General Manager at Hotel Football, said “We are thrilled to receive this accolade at the World Travel Awards 2023, and we are very proud to represent the city and the wider UK at the awards.”
“As the UK’s leading football hotel, we pride ourselves on ensuring all our guests - both from the UK and those who visit us from abroad - have the very best experience possible. This year has been a fantastic year and we are already looking forward to the huge sporting year ahead as we continue to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Manchester United’s famous treble winning season, along with the men’s Euro 2024 tournament and of course, the Olympic Games taking place in Paris.“
