Frankfurt Airport: smoking lounges ensure a great climate for everyone

A friendly atmosphere and a pleasant indoor climate are guaranteed for everyone who travels through Frankfurt Airport. It has been smoke-free since 2008, apart from the smoking booths available to passengers around the airport. Now Fraport has collaborated with the JTI tobacco company to create tastefully decorated, Camel-themed smoking lounges. Passengers can sit back in comfortable chairs and enjoy a cigarette before or after a long flight without affecting nearby non-smokers.

Passengers can take advantage of six Camel smoking lounges within the post-security areas of Terminal 1: in Pier A near Gates A52 and A66, in Pier B near Gates B23 and B43, and in Pier Z near Gates Z52 and Z66. They can be used free of charge, of course, and around the clock. Four additional smoking lounges are currently in planning phase. The glass smoking booths continue to be available in all terminal areas, as well as in Terminal 2.

The comfortable smoking lounges are part of the “Great to have you here!” service program that Frankfurt Airport launched to introduce a host of improvements that would make it even easier and more pleasant to depart from and transfer at Germany’s largest passenger airport. Frankfurt Airport welcomed more than 57 million passengers in 2012.
