Emirates Palace soars to new heights after WTA victory

Abu Dhabi’s legendary Emirates Palace has reinforced its standing as one of world’s great hotels by picking up no less than seven awards at the prestigious World Travel Awards 2011 Middle East Ceremony, which took place this week at the Armani Hotel Dubai.

Emirates Palace was crowned with “Abu Dhabi’s Leading Beach Resort”, “Abu Dhabi’s Leading Hotel”, “Abu Dhabi’s Leading Meetings and Conference Hotel”, “Abu Dhabi’s Leading Resort”, “Middle East’s Leading Meetings and Conference Hotel”, “UAE’s Leading Resort” and “Middle East’s Leading Suite”.

Following the remarkable achievement, Emirates Palace General Manager, Hans Olbertz said: “Emirates Palace is extremely delighted to win these world-class titles at once which proves the hotel’s leadership and excellence in Abu Dhabi and the region’s hospitality industry.”

“These awards come as a vote of confidence in our hotel’s powerful brand.” he added.

He also said that the Emirates Palace has maintained its leading position despite the challenges the world tourism and travel industry have been experiencing over the recent period.

The World Travel Awards is regarded as the world’s leading awards programme, in the travel industry world-wide and the ultimate achievement any travel and tourism product could ever hope to receive.

Votes are cast by 183,000 travel professionals who include travel agencies, tour and transport companies and tourism organizations in over 160 countries across the globe. Votes are also cast globally by fellow industry professionals in over 1,000 different categories.
