Driving abroad can be scary enough without the hefty car hire and insurance prices.  Online travel agent loveholidays.com says travellers should not be put off exploring destinations while on holiday as there are plenty of alternative options.

Alex Francis CEO of loveholidays.com believes that not everyone needs a hire car to make the most of their holiday. “A hire car can make getting around easy, but those who can’t afford to rent a vehicle don’t have to miss out.”

He continues “For example one of the simplest ways to escape charges is to pre-book a transfer from the airport to the accommodation.  This takes all the stress out of the start to the holiday as visitors know they will be met at the airport and driven directly to their hotel.  Who wants to jump straight off a flight and into a car to then have to read a map and navigate foreign roads?”

“We also recommend that travellers select their hotel booking more carefully and choose a property close to what they intend to enjoy doing whilst on holiday, whether that’s spending time at the beach, heading to a water park, visiting a site of historical interest or wiling away a day at the golf course.  Many of the more popular resorts have excellent public transport, which is usually extremely good value for money.  Quite often, local bus and train operators offer weekly or day passes and these can help keep costs down.”
