Cathay Pacific takes evasive action ahead of UK strike

Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific Airways has called on passengers bounded for the UK on Wednesday to postpone their trip due to anticipated industrial action by public workers in the country, including the UK Border Agency.

Delays are expected at all London airports, with Heathrow expected to be hardest hit.

Cathay Pacific said: “We have received notification from the British Airports Authority customers travelling to or from London’s Heathrow airport on November 30th may be affected by the planned strike action.

“While we hope to operate our regular schedule, customers may experience prolonged delays awaiting immigration processing and there may even be the possibility of flight diversions.”

The airline will waive all rebooking charges for Cathay Pacific tickets issued worldwide on or before November 25th for travel on the following flights.
