, developers of Dolphin for Windows, announces the availability of the FlightScanner Developer program effective June 1st.

Companies that sign up for the FlightScanner Developer program are provided documentation for the FlightScanner API, which allows developers to integrate with FlightScanner using either XML or a COM based interface.

Developers participating in the program have access to the FlightScanner development team for support and are then kept up-to-date as new functionality is added and the specifications are updated.

Several Tour Operators are currently evaluating the functionality with one project already completed and nearing release.

Several companies are also developing and evaluating integrated solutions using the FlightScanner COM interface, which allows integration of the more advanced FlightScanner Desktop application within other Windows applications. For example companies that have a GDS front end that supports COM interfaces (such as products written in Visual Basic or Visual C++) can integrate FlightScanner Desktop in a window within their own application and interact with it programmatically.

The use of XML or COM interfaces allows developers to easily integrate both web based applications as well as other Windows applications and have access to the data of the various carriers’ websites from a single source instead of having to develop multiple interfaces.”

FlightScanner Developer is only available for integration with applications used by travel agents or their customers.
