Northwest Web Site Adds Online Booking for Canada; KLM Site to Offer Online Booking for the Netherla

Today Northwest Airlines and its alliance partner KLM Royal Dutch Airlines announced that, effective immediately, they have implemented online booking features for customers in Canada via Northwest’s website (www.nwa.com) and, starting June 6, for Netherlands customers via KLM’s website (www.kl.nl).

“Demand for purchasing travel online is growing rapidly outside of the United States,” said Al Lenza, Northwest vice president - distribution planning. “We believe our Dutch and Canadian customers will take advantage of these features in planning their travel on Northwest and KLM.”

Lenza also said that Northwest and KLM anticipate adding more international points of sales later this year.

With this latest enhancement to their website, Northwest and KLM’s online customers in Canada and the Netherlands can reserve and purchase tickets online, a convenience that previously was available only to US customers. In addition, Canadian and Dutch customer will have the flexibility of requesting either a Northwest “E-ticket” where available or a “Ticket by Mail” service option.

Along with the access to flight reservations, customers can book hotel rooms and rental cars online through WorldWeb Reservations, check flight information (status, arrival time and gate location) as well as flight availability, fares and destination information such as maps, weather and restaurants.
