Carnival cruise lines standardize on IPIX

Interactive Pictures Corporation (Nasdaq: IPIX), a leader in immersive imaging for the Internet, has announced that Carnival Cruise Lines, the world’s number one cruise operator, will expand its IPIX? presence on its popular Web site www.carnival.com, visited by thousands of consumers and travel agents each day. With this new agreement, IPIX will provide its signature 360¡ x 360¡ images for all new Carnival ships featured within the site, beginning with the Carnival Victory, slated to debut in the summer of 2000. IPIX? images of Carnival Paradise, the world’s first smoke-free cruise ship, and the Carnival Triumph, which entered service in July, are already featured within the line’s Web site.

IPIX? technology delivers immersive photographs that allows viewers to ‘step inside’ IPIX? images, looking in any direction from left to right and floor to ceiling as if they are actually in the pictures. In addition to featuring IPIX? images on its Web site, Carnival will soon offer IPIX? images on CDs for sales efforts and onboard souvenirs. The virtual tours offer IPIX? images of each ship, including all the deck levels, staterooms and suites, dining rooms and restaurants, pools, and public rooms like casinos and entertainment areas for kids.
