Hughes wins Grand Cayman Ritz-Carlton job

Orion Developers working at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman Resort, have commissioned world-renowned interior design firm Hughes Design Associates to be the exclusive designer for The DeckHouses, part of phase two in Grand Cayman’s only sea-to-sea resort community.Celebrated for its progressive and dynamic interior architectural services, Hughes Design has created complete interior design packages to complement the luxury lifestyle and exclusive ownership afforded by the newest waterfront development.

Under the leadership of acclaimed interior designer Pamela Hughes, Hughes Design has become known for designing some of the most magnificent residences and hotel properties around the world. With offices in Sarasota, FL and McLean, VA, the firm has designed a myriad of luxury private residences and high-end hotel and resort properties, including Ritz-Carlton hotels, the Inn on Biltmore Estate in Asheville, N.C., The Mayflower in Washington, D.C., and the Four Seasons Hotel in Philadelphia.

The DeckHouses comprise 19 full-ownership single-family residences, situated on a peninsula within a latticework of waterways between The Ritz-Carlton on Seven Mile Beach and the North Sound, Grand Cayman’s most magical body of water.

Hughes aims to reflect the natural beauty of the region through two distinct interior design collections: The West Indies collection, in its colors and designs, is a true homage to island living in a stylish and elegant yet more traditional fashion.  The collection offers two color schemes defined by expertly selected specialty fabrics. Hughes also enlisted the talents of acclaimed Los Angeles based lighting designer Paul Ferrante for the craftsman style, wrought iron fixtures that compliment the West Indies designs and finishes.  The West Indies Cerulean Sea scheme is a wonderful palette of eclectic and elegant fabrics echoing the sublime shades of Caribbean blue from sky to sea, while Verdant Palm evokes the glorious tropical landscape of Grand Cayman and a variety of inspiring patterns for a true taste of the islands.

Alternately, casual, clean, contemporary and chic is the essence of the Modern Collection.  This collection’s Ivory Coast scheme is a crisp palette of neutral and pearlescent whites, creams and gold as cool and calming as the ivory sands of Seven Mile Beach. The more colorful Azure Cove’s soothing, yet vibrant island blues, greens and aqua reflect the unforgettable waters that surround Grand Cayman.  Both collections include hand-crafted custom furniture, interior finishes and fixtures; custom furnishings and window treatments, specialty lighting, state-of-the-art appliances and electronics, designer dinner service, flatware and glassware and a full arrangement of luxury bedding and bath essentials.
