Funjet broadcasts fam trips on web
Funjet Vacations is pioneering new travel marketing technology and broadcasting live, via the web, from the Riviera Maya, Mexico.
The two daily shows are being broadcast from the Xcaret Ecological Park and are a “first in travel technology history”—a live, online, interactive familiarization (fam) trip to the Riviera Maya.
This revolutionary concept brings Mexico right to the travel agent’s desktop, and will soon be available for consumers as well.
Through new interactive technology, thousands of travel agents across the U.S. will be able to simultaneously log-in from their home or office to view two different live shows each day, Dec. 6 through 9.
The 45-minute broadcasts include post-Wilma video footage of 15 hotels and several attractions and allow travel agents to interact with experts about current tourism and hotel conditions.

The Virtual Fams build on Funjet Vacations’ recent successes with other new online technologies—including a web log (blog) dedicated to providing travelers and travel agents with tourism updates on the Riviera Maya, located on the web at http://rivieramayaupdate.blogspot.com.
The blog has been very successful in reaching new customers, with a remarkable 20,000 unique site visitors since the blog launched less than a month ago.
The Funjet Vacations blog is where travelers can learn more about Cancun, the Riviera Maya, and Cozumel through relevant interviews with locals, and colorful photos and video clips of the hotels and downtown areas.
“No other vacation company in the world is using these cutting-edge online technologies to sell vacation packages to the Riviera Maya,” said Ray Snisky, president of Funjet Vacations.
“We are leading the industry with our live, online interactive fam trips and reaching thousands of new customers through our blog. Both are aimed at giving travel agents and customers the information they need to get excited about visiting the Riviera Maya again—and solidifies our market position as the leading U.S. tour operator to Mexico.”
