Asia Pacific’s luxury hotel group, Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, has been voted Preferred Hotel/Hotel Chain in Asia in the fifth annual TIME Readers’ Travel Choice Awards.  The group has received this accolade every year since the awards’ inception.

In addition, Shangri-La’s Mactan Island Resort and Spa, Cebu in the Philippines was voted Favourite Resort Hotel and Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore was runner-up for Favourite Business Hotel.

The survey, independently tabulated by Synovate, was open to all TIME readers in Asia with a total of 2,193 respondents.

There were nominations in 11 categories for readers to choose the best business cities, airports, resorts, holiday destinations, airlines and hotels around the region.

Hong Kong-based Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, Asia Pacific’s leading luxury hotel group, currently manages 48 hotels under the five-star Shangri-La and four-star Traders brands, with a rooms inventory of over 23,000. 

The group has over 40 projects under development in Canada, mainland China, India, Macau, Malaysia, Maldives, Oman, Philippines, Qatar, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and the United States.
